Car Seat Installation & Check
Maryland's Child Safety Seat Law states that a child younger than six years (regardless of weight) or who weighs 40 lbs or less (regardless of age) must ride in a correctly used child restraint system that meets Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards when in a vehicle registered in Maryland. Child restraint systems include infant seats, convertible seats, forward-facing seats, booster seats, etc.
It is very important that the car seat is installed properly. The following is a list of places where you can get your car seat installed and/or check.
- Fitzgerald AutoMall - Each month Fitzgerald holds a car seat installation and check at 5501 Nicholson Lane (right off Rockville Pike). Contact them for their schedule.
- Great Beginnings - Every Wednesday Great Beginnings offers car seat checks. Call 240-777-3636 to make a reservation.
- SAFE KIDS Child Safety Seat Inspection Station - Every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 AM to noon and the 1st Saturday of the month from 9 AM to 1 PM, there are car seat inspections at 14111 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring. Call 240-777-3636 to schedule an appointment.
- Rockville City Police - Make reservations with R. Lee Potter
